Elephant Yard

I wonder how  many visitors to Kendal have spotted these elephants high up in Elephant Yard. So named because there used to be an Elephant Inn on the site where they knocked down loads of old buildings in the 1990s to make a new thoroughfare. As can be seen here- Scroll down to the last photo. None of those buildings exist now
