Female blackbird

Terry put some meal worms out for the blackbirds and both the male an d the female have been enjoying them.
This photo was taken through the glass of the kitchen window as I didn't want to venture out in the bitter cold!
Our bins still have not been emptied and the council reporting system is flawed to say the least. 3 links on  their website lead you to "oops, page not found" and when they finally contacted me (5pm today) to log the missed collection (not to say they will do anything about it though) they sent me a link to visit which did not work. Useless!
They cannot tell me if the bins will be emptied before the next collection is due. Grrrr.
I have a front garden full of petals which is annoying - the weather is abysmal - wet and blustery, plus very cold and the wind has blown most of the flowers and blossom off the magnolia and cherry. Even the weeping cherry which is just opening its blossom has been damaged - the brand new blossom is blowing off the branches.
The weatherman said it's been better today; milder - maybe down south but certainly not here!
Gave the gym a miss as shoulder jab due tomorrow and didn't fancy a walk in the bitter cold wind and rain so I just did some cleaning jobs in the house.
