Lopsided larch

Even after the rain stopped, it was grey and dreary. The larch is a rather bedraggled looking specimen, with uneven branches sprouting at different angles and a very bare top, but I like its quirky silhouette, which often stands at the edge of my views of the valley. It turns a wonderful golden colour in autumn, and retains quite a lot of this foliage through the winter, along with the neat little cones which form such pretty bobbles along the branches.

It's not really a particularly unusual angle for today's Mono Monday but I tried to frame it carefully.
