Coming in to land
We noticed the other day that the birds are back at the nestbox, and today I managed a shot of one of them arriving and departing. Unfortunately I had to shoot at an angle through the patio door, so the quality of the picture is not as good as I hoped. However it does show the blue tit (or is it a great tit) has closed his wings just before landing on the edge of the hole. Quite a feat of timing by the bird. Too early and it would crash into the box below the hole, too late and wing damage would result.
If my landings when learning to fly had been that accurate I wouldn't have taken so many hours before going solo!
