Frosted

A bit unexpected!  The view from the front windows was bright and sunny first thing this morning, so going out the back door and seeing the garden white and sparkling came as quite a surprise. 

Later, Mike and I took out the large Olearia, Henry Travers. It was a beautiful big bush, with lots of purple flowers on it every year, but this winter was too much for it. I kept hoping it was still alive, but it was well and truly dead. Mike, being a man with a lathe, has kept the trunk of it to make into something useful and beautiful. Henry Travers will live on!
