Two hemispheres

The cousins from the opposite ends of the world are back together.  The Australians are back in town, first time in three years. (Six years for these two )

Earlier I found myself in interview room 2 at the local constabulary. I hadn’t been apprehended. Someone had handed in my  purse before I even knew I’d lost it. Confusing message on the signage.  Two or three. Which is it?
