An ordinary life....

Drilling, hammering, painting...

Two of the floor tiles at the door of the garden room into the garden have loosened and lifted away from the floor.  TZ from the building company who built the extension arrived at 8am to check them over and (hopefully) fix them.  By 8.15am he was drilling away and it was as if the builders had never left!  lol  (pic in extras)

We were worried that water was getting in somewhere and was the cause of the problem bit it was bone dry.  TZ gave it all a thorough check but could find no reason for the problem.  He re-laid new tiles in their place and we can't walk on them for 48 hours so we've closed access to the garden room and will spend the next 48 hours in the living room.

We were supposed to have a home visit from a Fire Fighter to look over the house to help develop a fire escape plan, but he didn't turn up.  To be fair he hadn't confirmed by email but when speaking to Jordan, Jordan was left with the impression the date and time was fine with him and the email was just a formality.  Oh well, will have to reorganise that.

David's had a very industrious day.

Started with the weekly tip run (it was open today!  Yay :-)  Then after lunch he came into the studio and started putting some of my paintings on the walls (see extras)  He stopped to have dinner then carried on and by 9pm he had all 41 paintings hung.  Eclectic mix on the main wall, Wee Chookie Birdies on one half of the window wall, and three paintings of Lola (two by me and one by my Goddaughter) on the door wall.

It's lovely (and a bit bizarre) to see them all on display.  It certainly makes the room feel much more lived in and loved.  I have others to go up (more recent ones) but having difficulty finding frames to fit the mounts, which is annoying.

This evening I have been continuing to crochet decorations for the Easter Party on Sunday.  I've crocheted 12 tiny baskets for cream eggs.  Now I need to crochet 12 little flower heads to be sewn on to them.  I've had weeks to do this but as ever I am at the coo's tail!!

In other news, received an email from the lady who owns the holiday house in Harris we are staying at in May.  The balance has been paid and she's sent us a load of info.  We arrive there four weeks on Friday!  Can't wait!!!
