Progress is slow. I think the Minor Injuries Unit at Stroud hospital has been closed since last autumn. Gloucester Royal hospital is over ten miles away, and might just be CoVid-y. Eek, I'm going there tomorrow. Only for my routine mammogram, though, in an outpatient clinic.
It was the last Tuesday of term. My second-last Tuesday at nursery. The (Conservative) MP for Stroud, Siobhan Baillie, paid us a visit at lunchtime. Whilst her visit was expected, a lunchtime drop-in could have been a disaster. However, all the children had miraculously stopped crying, roaring or rocking on their chairs when she popped in, and all went smoothly. I wasn't even rude to her.
Then off to Tesco's to collect my Euros, then the boys in the park, then the older boy being very upset about an ice cream, then a tricky walk home with all three boys. By the time we got to their home, the tears and screaming had subsided, and we had an afternoon packed with varied activities, including melting a wax crayon in a bain-marie.
Home-time was all about cooking, watching TV and sending out brochures, which is always more complicated than it seems at first glance. However, I've even posted some this evening, so I'm winning. Sort of.
I also walked 16,510 steps. I think when I start my new job I may be walking considerably fewer steps. Perhaps even my trainers will last longer.
