Dentist

I cycled to the dentist and back for a routine check up, leaving my bike locked at the nearby hospital bike park. On my way back, I was wheeling my bike past the hospital when I saw this bench.

I feel so torn. It's lovely that people want to mark the work of the NHS but I do wish we weren't just clapping and dedicating benches to them. We should be paying them a decent wage - even the most junior nurse is worth more than my MP. Heck, even the most junior cleaner is worth more than my MP - they help to guard against infection which is more than he has ever done.

But no. We make NHS staff pay for car parking and offer them measly pay rises while our MPs get such high salaries it's just not funny.
