Now, as I see it......

The train now standing at Platform 1...

...is going nowhere.

They say things happen in threes.  In the last week we've had three things break or break down, the last of which was my coffee machine which started making a horrible noise from the grinding mechanism.  It's long since out of warranty meaning sending it back to the manufacturer for repair wouldn't have been economical, so I made enquiries and found someone not too far away who might be able to repair it.  I took it over this morning and on the way back spotted the signs for County School station and decided to have a look.

County School is on the Mid Norfolk Railway but no trains run from here yet, and will not do until the railway raise enough money to extend there from Dereham.  It appears to be in the middle of open countryside but was actually built to service the Watts Naval School which stood nearby.  The British actor Sir John Mills was born at the school, his father being one of the school masters.

For now there is just the platforms and buildings, which house a small tea room.  This rather tired-looking train is used by the tea room for extra customer space when needed.
