Mare Nectaris
The Mare of the title is the smooth oval area in the centre of the shot. The prominent arc of three craters are from the top, Theophilus, Cyrillus and Catharina. For scale Theophilus is about 60 miles across.
The seeing tonight was quite good with very little turbulence and a fairly steady view even at high magnification. In part this was due to the high altitude of the Moon meaning there was less of Earth's atmosphere to look through and distort the image. The view visually was much sharper and far more detailed than the photograph has picked up.
This was a single exposure with a Huawei P20 through an eyepiece giving a magnification of X180 on a Skywatcher 127 Mak-Cas telescope.
