To get wet or not to get wet...

On this last day of Thai New Year, I'm taking a different approach to celebrating. I've had two days of playing in the water and watching people make merit. Now it's time to try out the approach many people choose to take (Thais included). It's the "stock up on food and stay home so you don't get wet" approach.

It seems to be primarily the kids through mid-20s group who goes out to play in the water. After that comes a few years when people can stay home and relax during the holiday. That lasts until they have kids and have get to go out and play in the water again. Life. An interesting cycle.

Most of the students I live with went to their hometowns to visit their family for the long holiday. Those who stuck around got to enjoy brownies and cheese-filled bread pockets (which escaped the photo shoot due to being devoured.)

My squirt gun is close at hand though, just in case the water-play sneaks up on me. It hasn't been used yet...but the day isn't over! :)
