Bayeux Tapestry
Today we are in Bayeux, another beautiful town. The reason for visiting is to look at the tapestry where I thought I had taken a photo, in fact is was a video, hence the arrow, nothing to do with William. The procedure to view this amazing piece of work was simple, pay the money, collect an audio guide and all becomes clear. Initially -some thousand years ago - the tapestry was shown to the locals two days a year in the cathedral, therefore keeping history alive. today we look for wifi. We mingled with several school parties, what a great way to learn history. Yesterday afternoon we parked in Arrowmange? and looked in awe at the remains of the mulberry harbour, built by the forces engineers with civilian businesses taking a major role in its construction. The tourist office suggested the restaurant 'the conqueror' for wifi, here we are on our second coffee and eaten a brunch (no milk for breakfast most shops are closed on a Sunday) of omelette and chips, tres bonne. The wifi is the best we have come across.
