Industrial Arctic style
Kirkenes is the most northerly town in Norway. It is just a few kilometres from the border with Russia. It has a little of the look of a frontier town with signs in both Norwegian and Russian. I didn’t venture into the town this time but in past visits locals have been very welcoming and friendly. Friends visited the Ice Hotel and had cuddles with the huskies and reindeer. Though I’m not sure how friendly eating a reindeer sausage is!
