Air source heat pumps

The Knottman household has an ageing gas boiler to run central heating.
There is no doubt that because of its age it would almost certainly need to be replaced in the next couple of years if we were to continue using gas. 
So today we had a visit from a local heating company who have agreed to give us a quotation for an air source heat pump.
A scheme of Government grants is just about to be announced as part of the drive to reduce the use of fossil fuels.

We await the quotation with interest
The blip shows a double sized unit but we expect we would need one half that size.
Other companies make good heat pumps too.
