Wheatear

I have a feeling that this wheatear is a new arrival. It was resting on the roof of a boatshed near the river, and we don't usually see them down there - mostly they are up on the moors, so I think it is on passage and will likely move on when rested.

Nice walk this morning. Not a lot else about. There was a pair of sandpipers flitting between banks and a swan grazing, but apart from that just the common birds - dunnock, robins, mallard and a few canada geese flying over. The weather was much warmer. The sky was grey and there was still a fairly strong wind with occasional splashes of rain, but it was a very pleasant wind.
