Sunshine and then...

What with the car problem and everything, today was my first chance for a proper walk in several days. It started out sunny and then a heavy shower fell. This consisted of that white stuff which is half-way between snow and hail. I gather that its name is "graupel" - defined as "small particles of snow with a fragile crust of ice; soft hail."  Knowing that made having an icy trickle of thawed graupel running down my neck very worthwhile.
