Nelson
Having done the bulk of the packing last night it was a simple process to pop the last few items into our suitcases. We were at the bus stop at 9:48am and sitting down with a coffee at the domestic terminal at 10:50am having taken a train and a further bus and dropped our bags.
We had a smooth flight to Nelson and were soon in the city centre. After checking in to our hotel we set off to find a light snack and a coffee before parting company with our friends. Hubby and I went for a lovely walk on a path alongside the river, stopping to admire things that interested us. We saw the most incredible sight - a long-tailed eel doing belly rolls in the water. Amazing! We joined up with our friends again at 6pm, enjoyed pre-dinner drinks at a bar with an eclectic selection of gins then crossed the road to an Italian restaurant for dinner. A most enjoyable day.
The main blip and the extra show a selection of photos from the day.
