8th April Happy Anniversary Mum and Dad
It would have been their 83rd today. This photo was taken in 1989 on their 50th, it's not reproduced very well.
We planned a surprise for them, but made it appear that we were taking them out for the afternoon while my daughters in law's prepared a tea for them. We went all over North Yorkshire called at Thornton le Dale then went to Farndale well known for it's hundreds of Daffodils. It was getting dusk when we pulled into the pub car park and mum said I don't really want to walk down the daffodil walk so I said no we'll go have a drink instead. Dad agreed it was a good idea. As we walked in we bumped into No. 2 son Mark. Dad said "what are your doing here", "Having a drink" says Mark then No1 son Jan appeared with the two girls, then we gave a nod to the landlady who it had all been arranged with and much to mum and dads surprise we were escorted into the dining room, The table had been made to look really beautiful and they gave us a bottle of bubbly and then took our order, we were treated like royalty and mum and dad were thrilled to bits. Later when we got home there was a pile of presents for them to open.
It's one of those happy memories I can enjoy over and over again.
Back to today. Went to the woods with Tanzy and Molly, they are doing fine together and getting on with each other really well now. Indoors as well. Such a relief. I managed to get the front and one of the back lawns cut, they certainly needed it.
It was a sunny day quite pleasant in the sun but still a chill in the shade.
