Walking the Cake!

After breakfast we went with Jose into Ciego de Avila....about a 2 hour drive away.  You can rent a taxi and driver for the day, about $150....he basically spent the whole day with us.  The city is the capital of the province....and altho we visited here a few years ago, we just wanted to get out of the resort for the day.   It's a small city so not so busy and noisy!  But man was it a hot one....we left Jose for a few hours to explore on our own.  Had lunch in a classic spot and it was great.  Then we wandered around the centre of the town, and stopped to buy a new belt for Terry and a little top for me.   We both love to bring a little something home from Cuba.

One of the things we seen quite often in Cuban cities...is people walking around with a large, special looking cake.   It's kinda weird but i just love it.   So here is a woman walking her cake!!

The drive there and back was a bit exhausting...the roads are so bumpy and the old 50's cars (should have got a photo) have no suspension...so it's not the most relaxing trip.  But it was a good little trip.

Back to the resort in time for dinner. and packing....we leave at 11 am tomorrow.
