In the afternoon we went to Threave Castle to get our first glimpse of the female osprey on their new nest . There are volunteers stationed on a viewing platform during the day with spotting scopes , who offer information and record data of the ospreys behaviour .
The male Black 80 arrived back on 22nd March and the female BlueKC a few days later. They normally raise 2 or 3 young every year. The rich waters of the Dee provide a plentiful supply of fish for their young. We were told that the behaviour of the female indicates she is sitting on an egg already !

In the evening I went to visit my Mum at the care home . They now have a covid case on her floor , so visiting is being tightened up. There are only 3 designated visitors permitted. One per day .
My Mum seemed happy to see me , and I facilitated calls to my son and sister.
My poor sister and her family have all had Covid :-( . So they were not able to get away on a family holiday as planned for the Easter hols.
