The Day of the Dandelion
At first there were snowdrops, then crocuses followed by daffodils and then lately the dilatory tulips but now suddenly dandelions are in abundance everywhere. Weeds they may be, but they are the cheeriest, most colourful and robust of flowers as they congregate on the verges of the paths and under hedges. All they lack is an alluring scent.
