Garden

This is a pretty little clump in the back garden. The double primula is into its fourth year, could probably do with splitting it if I'm honest. The little saxifrage is in its third year and also looking quite happy.
It's Palm Sunday today for all those who l might not have noticed! A longer than usual service in church as we blessed and distributed palm crosses then processed from the church hall out into the street and back into the church to continue the service. I led the procession with our veiled cross, my job was not to walk so fast that we left folks behind and not to go so slow that those concerned about covid were too bunched up! The service also includes the reading of the passion so was extended quite a bit.
When we got home we had lunch and did a bit of work in the garden. It's much warmer today. This afternoon, two lots of people came round to pick up some pond iris from a very large clump which I had split. I do feel that one huge benefit of lockdown has been the growth in community interaction. Passing on plants, household goods, produce etc in a way that never happened before. Our local Facebook groups are very effective and friendly. We've lived here for 28 years and I have come to know far more people in the last 2 years than over the previous 26.
Today is Ali and Stuart's first wedding anniversary. On 10th April last year there was a wedding with 5 people - the couple, the priest and the two mums present, everyone else watched online and the fathers from the doorway. (extra) That evening, we all sat in our own separate houses eating the same meal bought from Cafe St Honoré. In spite of the strangeness though, it was a lovely day, a very special ceremony and the celebration is still to come! This time Josie will be present in real life too. What a year!
