That's the best I could get today. After brunch I went back out in the rain to try for another photo of the tri-colored heron. I drove in one direction along the road, didn't see it, so I turned around to go back to the area where he was last night.  Another car had stopped along there and before I got back 2 more people showed up. When I saw the big cameras in the car windows, I knew that it must be out there somewhere. I zoomed in as much as I could with my little SX50 and started scanning the area. Finally found it just before it disappeared over a bank, and managed to get a couple of shots.
