Fantastic building - was a Franciscan Monastery and de consecrated in the 1980s when the last few Franciscan Friars left the building as it was too large for their decreasing numbers... fell into ruin and was vandalised... local people started a campaign to have it restored and were granted a lottery grant and funding and work began... it now stands proud once again in the district of Gorton, on the outskirts of Manchester... and is used as an events venue... over the years we've been attending events there we have seen the restoration continue... the ambience in the building is wonderful and its so fantastic that this building has been saved and can be admired and experienced by many...
