Hacked Off Hedgerow

I’m always amazed at the ability of hedgerows to recover and start growing again after the ritual flailing to cut them back. This piece shows some of the most recent breakages and plenty of old scarring too. In just a few weeks this will be covered in green foliage again. Plenty of lichen has moved in as well. I like all the textures in the stems.

Posting early today as I may be busy later - we are off to Doncaster in a while to collect eldest granddaughter who is coming to stay for a couple of nights…it gives her a break from annoying little sister and gives mum a break from the bickering!
