The Saxophonist

We’d seen him
in black and white
the previous night,
in a music documentary
on i-player,
and there he was,
in full colour,
older,
wearing shades
and a green t-shirt
admiring the art.
Not a saxophone in sight.
 
That’s right isn’t it?
And we followed him round the gallery
wondering if we dare speak to him.
