More birds!

Did a litter-picking stint up the WoL, mostly around the Quilts, while the majority of the crew were wading in the river pulling out all sorts of detritus. Its level is very low at the moment (controlled in some clever way downstream for the benefit of the workers on the swing bridge), so all sorts of horrors are being revealed.

I was pleased to see Mrs Chaffinch collecting some nice fluff for her nest on the path (extra) and when I got back to the Shore was delighted to see some moorhen hatchlings. Four that I could see, with two eggs unhatched in the nest. Both parents were nearby, fussing around them.
