The Skelpies

I had a quick preview Blip of the new Shipbuilders sculpture a couple of months ago, and since then I had seen reports that 'assembly is now complete'.  I decided to return to get a set of images for ArtUK.  However it appears they aren't quite ready yet.  I think its mostly landscaping work but there are still fences all round them.

Thats why I have cropped this one quite severely.  And I didn't notice when I was taking it that there is a gull at the top of one of the hammers.

I found out that locally they are calling the 'The Skelpies'   - referring to another well known sculpture.   (Skelp is a Scottish word meaning, smack, strike, blow).
