The First Rose of Spring...
While most of the 100 roses here are budding the first one to open is 'Julia Child,' a brilliant yellow with a heady perfume. I saw her from a great distance away sparkling yellow-gold in the sunlight. This rose, a David Austin English Rose, some of my very favorite roses, starting blooming prolifically after planting even as a very young rose and bloomed through the heat of the summer and through the fall. I love yellow roses but this rose is hands down the most reliable bloomer and just breathtaking to behold...
