I've stayed home today, and glad I did.  Gentle pottering in the garden to get rid of the beastly stinging nettles coming under the fence (where the neighbour does nothing in her garden at all) and emptied the car out ready for an early start tomorrow.

Mid morning I got an email from my Dad to tell me that my Step Mum had a quadruple bypass last Tuesday.  What a shock - she's normally very healthy :(  Anyway hopefully she came home this afternoon, but it will be about 12 weeks recovery and I'm not sure she'll be able to attend the extended family event in a couple of weeks....  

Obviously she's not my Mum but we are quite close and she has done so much for me...so I've been full of emotion today :(
