T-Wood and Caerketton Craigs

Left for the Sunday morning bike ride a bit late. A route with a bit of climbing. It is still quite cool outisde. A bit slow climbing out of Auchendinny, then over Mount Lothian. A bit faster as the wind is not a headwind, which returns as I cycle past Gladhouse Reservoir to the A703. By the time I get to the A road, my average speed is a bit dire, so it is good to get some speed as I head down to Eddleston. Another head wind on the climb up the Meldons. This of course disappears on the descent to Lyne. Thankfully Lyne is the turning point, no more headwinds. A tail wind on the road to Romannobridge was appreciated as there is a long uphill drag, and once through West Linton, the last 20km were all wind assisted. Not too bad, I managed to do the 76.9km in under three hours.

The ride can be seen at Relive here.

A nice after lunch walk to Swanston. It has become quite overcast, but there is a milky sun trying to break through so it isn't too dull. After this morning, it felt quite warm on the walk, so felt a bit overdressed in the big coat. The main blip was taken just above the village. We take the high eastern loop path. Extra was taken from the path looking west where the snow covered munros in the Trossachs can just be seen.

Once home it is nice to sit down to a cup of coffee with a bit of chocolate orange, and just surf the net.
