Spring cleaning......

Dry but cold today.
A morning spent faffing around feeding calves that won't suck,then mucked out and bedded a couple of sheds of cows while Kev headed up the hill with the 5* lambing accommodation ( see extra).
Once he came back,left him to it to do the other sheds while I went next door for a load of silage.
This cow had calved when I checked this afternoon and when I went back tonight she was happily munching on her afterbirth ,or cleanings.
However the calf hadn't had a suck and was starting to get chilled,so managed to haul it onto the bike and get her to follow me into the steading. Milked her out ,tubed the calf and stuck them in a pen. No doubt I'll have to repeat the process in the morning.
