Raspberry leaves

It's that wonderful moment in spring when, suddenly, everything is opening, uncurling and unfolding, with the fresh green of new leaves patterning everything. I like the neat pleats of the new raspberry leaves, and the beautiful and short lived pink tinge they have when they first appear.

I picked the last of the Brussels sprouts today, and we ate them with the second instalment of yesterday's roast dinner. They didn't improve it. P is now clearing the brassica beds, ready for replanting; onion sets and garlic are waiting to go in, as are all the seed potatoes. The first week in April is normally potato planting time here, but we've had cold nights and heavy frosts almost every morning this month, so we are waiting a little. I started washing greenhouse glass, but didn't have time to finish; so much to do, so little time...
