Great Ape

We went to the Bioparc this morning. It’s a ‘zooimmersion’ zoo which is designed to recreate the natural environment of the animals it houses, not just visually but in terms of cohabiting species and social groups being together, as well as predators and prey looking as if they are, although they are in fact invisibly divided.

We then walked to the city centre through the Turia Gardens, previously part of the Guadalaviar river which was diverted following the devastating great flood of 1957. We had lunch alfresco in the old town and then a bit more wandering (by then in heavy rain). The step count is already very high this week.
