Snail shelter

I went out in the garden this evening to top up the bird feeders, hoping it would be even slightly spring-like out there. It wasn't. Chilly, damp, muddy ... I can't muster my usual enthusiasm for getting seeds growing etc, maybe I'll leave it for another few weeks.

But in our rose/clematis arch I did spot this cluster of sheltering snails.
