Virginia bluebells

Thank you for your good wishes for D today. Everything went well and apart from the expected post-anesthesia loopiness (and I was very glad there were two of us getting him up the front steps into the house) he's done well. Good that it's spring break and he's got some free days.

We've got one patch of these native bluebells, and they're in full bloom under a cloud of appreciative bumblebees. There's a redbud tree nearby that has grown very tall - we got it as a stick at an Arbor Day festival years ago - and also has swarms of happy busy bees.
