Gig Review (memo for self)
Trip to the excellent Leicester De Montfort Hall for Mrs M and I last night to see (Dr)John Cooper Clarke, the punk poet who famously toured as support for The Sex Pistols. Felt like a chat with a mate down the pub, his natural style a  mixture of comedy, poetry and rambling (which merged well with his Alzheimer's).

Performed the original Beasley Street, but also a version 40+ years on, based in Broughton, the originally run down area of Salford that JCC was brought up in; I also lived there for 2 years as a student in the early 80s.

Bed Blocker Blues, also notable.

Luke Wright excellent as support complimented him well, with his similar mixture of comedy and poetry, plus some good impression's including of JCC himself with opener Chelsea Boots (I think). Judge Crush also an outstanding poem of the night.

Compere/ friend/manager Johnny Green was also a character and entertaining.
