A Day At A Time.

Castellar Zoo

Today I helped take a school trip to the wonderful conservation animal sanctuary at Castellar de la Frontera.

Some years ago it was heavily criticised for its lack of proper care for the animals, but today we only had praise for the amazing work they are doing to rehabilitate injured and mistreated animals of all sorts. They also have a number of very endangered species and are managing to increase their numbers.

Most of these animals have come from unfortunate backgrounds and have never been in the wild, so this place is as close as they can safely get to being home.

If you fancy, take a look at their website, or the entry I have made on our school website to get an idea of the variety of animals, birds, reptiles and fish that one can get up close and personal with at Castellar Zoo.
