The first sign

We went up to the allotment, D getting distracted and side-tracked by numerous phone calls and messages from Inchcolm and various boats (even though he's not supposed to be working today). What a shower.

He fed the multitudes - there was quite a bit of fighting going on (sparrow on sparrow), goodness knows why. I continued trying to weed the asparagus bed and discovered the first shoot was just showing. The weeds are a pest though - v difficult to extricate creeping buttercup without breaking the roots off (one can't actually dig, because the asparagus roots spread around but are very close to the surface.

Called in at East Coast Cured on the way home for a few goodies.
