The Gate

OK, maybe I'm going through my rural phase. But it was lovely this evening to go up to the top of the village and get a walk through the trees and feel the wind. Good to be outdoors. Although the light has been better these last couple of days it changes so quickly. The early evening is usually the best time of day, the light bright but soft, some lovely colours and shadows. Not so tonight, the sun was in and out of the clouds, the sky undramatic. This old gate caught my eye, broken and bent, the twigs and branches starting to grow over and through it, a new aluminium one soon to take it's place I suspect.
