A special request...
Hello fellow blipfriends of LornaL! This is hazelh with a special request...
I know that I officially closed this journal on 11th January 2021, but at the time I didn't envisage that my work here would lead to a funded research project that includes the creation of a podcast series centred on Lorna's Diary of the war.
As part of this new project, my colleague Bruce and I said to the funders that we would organise conversations with folk about how they followed the LornaL journal, and comparisons between this experience and listening to the new podcast series. We are really keen to hear from blippers who would be willing to chat to us and ensure that we deliver on our promises.
There's more information on this on our 'register of interest' page, but in short, we would like to speak to individuals on two occasions, each time for under an hour. The first occasion would be before you have heard the podcast series, and the second time afterwards. We plan to complete the interviews in mid-June.
Please don't worry if you have never accessed a podcast before. We will help you with that. Nor should the interview be demanding. We just would like to compare your reactions to seeing Lorna's work on Blipfoto, and listening to it as audio files. We do hope that you are interested in helping out. Please say that you will :-)
There's more on the podcast series creation in our other journal at LornaLPodcast (https://www.blipfoto.com/LornaLPodcast).
Oh, and the picture here is of Lorna aged about 12, with her brother Theo, and mother Topsie, outside their house in Sheffield in 1926.
