Pigs

I find pigs so interesting and love to watch them. I'd quite like to own a couple but I don't think Reg would be so keen and they would definitely only be pets! Maybe I'll just enjoy watching these. These are in Wearhead, the next village along the Dale, and I pass them quite often. I've passed them twice today, walking to  matting and then again in the evening to the very grandly named Horticultural Club, actually just a whole load of locals interested in gardening. It was a really sociable couple of hours, the first one this year. I'm a new member, along with quite a few others, all from the local villages. The club hasn't run for a couple of years due to Covid so it's great to get it started again. We were all issued with a bucket and a potato with precise instructions to grow said potato ready for a weigh in later in the summer! All a bit of fun but I'm sure there will be one or two who may be deadly serious! It's just a monthly event with most of the dates organised for garden visits and meet ups to judge our produce growing! An amiable bunch of people who basically enjoy a bit of gardening! There will be a produce show and auction of goodies in September. Let's hope we get some summer to grow at least something worthy enough to show!
