Fled

I walked home from work just before 4 and all the roads in my part of town were gridlocked because of the whole vehicle fire/bypass closure thing.

I fled on my bike to the empty roads of East Lothian and had a great ride.

By the time I got back just before 8 some of the roads round me were still all snarled up. Never seen it like that before.
