Nests

J decided, to my surprise, that she was ready for an alternative to creme egg chocolate brownies, which we made last Easter and for several years before that. She requested chocolate cornflake nests, which were a favourite no-cook cake when she was very young. This suited me, firstly because there is nothing quicker or easier, and secondly because I won't be tempted to eat too many of them. We enjoyed making them - she may be 31, but she still likes a bit of hands on stirring, as well as licking all the utensils.

Thursday is movie night; last week we watched The Reason I Jump, which has recently been added to Disney+, a gentle, beautifully made documentary exploring the worlds of a diverse group of non-speaking autistic people, with words narrated from the book of the same name, which was written by a non-speaking Japanese boy. Today J wanted to watch another of the live streamed watch parties of short films from Cardiff Animation Festival, so there wasn't time for a movie as well, but we enjoyed another episode of A Suitable Boy, with which we are belatedly catching up on BBCiPlayer, accompanied by pizza - a nice, relaxing evening.
