Well known London metro release first pictures of new tube train to be in service by 2020. Working with railway systems across the globe engineers have developed a new concept of trains with very large wheels (their diameter being about the same as the height of the doors). In an earlier press release the Head of Engineering stated big wheels mean they make less revolutions to go the same distance resulting in a significant energy saving. Tests have confirmed a reduction of between 32% and 57% is possible depending on the length of the train and temperature of the tunnels. As the tunnel temperature goes up the wheels get even bigger and therefore improving the result. Well done engineering another environmetally friendly and sustainable solution.
