Red Lion
Impromptu early Easter treat, fine food, fine drink, fine friends last night. First visit here since the new owners took over; now a favourite.
Pan fried filleted sea trout, with sundried tomatoes and tomato crisps for me.
Draught Bass as standard edged out any chance of me having wine with the others, and in a Bass branded glass - Perfect.
The Red Lion
..a common pub name in the UK, It originated from the time of James I and VI of Scotland( born 1566) who apparently ordered that the heraldic red lion of Scotland be displayed on all buildings of importance, including pubs.
This Red Lion has been an inn since 16th century.
