Power Station

Ratcliffe-on-Soar Power Station - as seen when joining the northbound M1, shortly after leaving Donington Services, where we stopped for a bite to eat on our way back from Telford. Another ‘grab what you can with a phone from the passenger seat’ shot I am afraid. I thought that the cooling towers stood out quite nicely in the sun and I quite liked the ‘busy’ sky!

As of March 2022 this is only one of three coal fired power stations left in the UK and it is scheduled to close in September 2024.

We spent most of the morning helping out Mrs madwill’s brother before setting off for home. We also called in to see our daughter and family as we passed Doncaster!
