Cherry Blossom

A very Good Friday. A day off work, and a bike ride. I decide to head south as heading out in to the wind is the best thing to do. I head out to Auchendinny, the head up to Mount Lothian. On that part I thought the wind was indeed in my face. As I am training for an event, I then head to Eddleston, over the Meldons and down to Drumelzier via Stobo. Once I reach the A701, I turn north through Broughton (they brew some good beer here), then I find out the wind is in my face. At least on the return leg, the climbs are more gentle. Even so, I pass through a wee hamlet called Mountain Cross, and that makes it seem more extreme than it really is. From there, there's only small climbs to West Linton, the moor road, and home via Seafield Moor Road and Hillend.

The ride can be seen at Relive here.

In the afternoon, my partner and I walk down to Braidburn Valley Park. The newer cherry trees are in full blossom, the older ones are yet to do so. A nice relaxing walk after this morning's exertions. Back home in tome for coffee, bought from the local Italian café. We even sit outside. A lovely day.
