A friend brought his baby girl to visit the chooks and Bean this afternoon. She adored it. Bean gave her a hongi then followed her around the garden. So sweet.

But what on earth is going on in Bean’s head here? Suggestions below please.

As well as the visitors it’s been a full day of digging the soon-to-be broad bean bed prior to composting it next week, drying the latest batch of apple slices, making more peach cordial, picking another bucket of apples, making mayo, and line trimming.

A good day which has ended with a the sun dipping below the hills, not a cloud in the sky, not a breath of wind, and remarkably warm. This is the life.
